Job Title: Buyer - Aerospace Overhaul and Repair

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 annually
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our aerospace overhaul and repair team in Wichita, Kansas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, parts, and services necessary for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of aerospace components. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of the aerospace industry, and the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality standards are met.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
- Solicit quotes from approved suppliers for replacement parts, repair services, manufacturing products, and facility supplies.
- Prepare purchase orders for replacement parts and vendor services.
- Track and follow up on open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of parts and services.
- Verify the nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests to ensure accuracy.
- Assess material requirements, including initial specifications, preferred suppliers, and delivery timelines.
- Manage inventory and warehouse levels, aligning them with project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including FAR/DFAR
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, within the aerospace industry.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain operations and ERP systems.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations and interpret complex technical instructions.
- Familiarity with aerospace components and industry standards.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
