A thriving multi-channel Food Retailer looking to grow from $270M to $1bn within the next 3yrs is now looking to Expand its Operational presence & capabilities in the greater Charlotte NC area with a New Director of Distribution leader. Just 2 levels down from the CEO of the business, this leader will have responsibility for Multiple buildings across the US (temperature controlled facilities, cross-docks, dry distribution centers), along with a team of senior direct reports, and play a key influential role in helping the business meet it's customer service + growth targets. Working daily with the Head of Supply Chain, the role is an intriguing mix of both Strategic + Operational responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, Coach and Lead a team of 5-6 senior direct reports
- Manage approx. 10 different sites covering North America territory
- Direct the Design, Build, Construction and Launch of a New cold storage facility in North Carolina
- Oversee combined Warehousing & Transportation budget of $10M+
- Delivery and maintain best in class inventory management practices
- Lead cold storage Transportation & Logistics, DSD (Direct Store Delivery), National Logistics and Home Delivery Ecommerce
- Build and develop succession planning initiatives for Long-Term aspirational career growth in Team Members
- Ensure regulatory & compliance standards related to Cold Storage and distribution
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Bachelor's degree (ideally in an analytical subject)
- 15+ years experience in Warehousing and Transportation
- Food industry experience
- Proven Project Management experience in DC Design/Construction
- Strong process improvement & cost saving accomplishments
- Experience with managing teams of direct reports
