Responsibilities
- Lead & develop a world class EHS team, partnering with plant leadership
- Collaborate with a diverse group of business leaders from senior leadership to front-line employees
- Track and understand KPI's while continually improving performance
- Develop and implement EHS strategies that align with corporate objectives to reduce/mitigate operational risk
- Create new processes to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local EHS regulations
- Maintain accurate daily, weekly, monthly and YTD metrics to report to the plant management teams/corporate based reporting systems
- Identification and elimination of workplace hazards and management of hazardous chemicals
- Provide necessary technical expertise on Safety and Environmental regulations
- Training and assisting other EHS team members to complete designated safety and compliance responsibilities (audits, following safety rules, required training, etc.)
- Oversight all workplace injuries in accordance with corporate worker's compensation claim management practices and transitional return to work program
- Oversight of all reported incidents from responding to investigating - driving closure of all corrective/preventative actions with engineering solutions
- Perform other duties in support of the corporate and business unit's EHS strategic plan
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably in EHS or related field)
- Master's degree in EHS a plus
- 10+ years experience in safety management role
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Regulations, DOT Regulations and Management Systems
- Experience with Process Safety and Risk Management programs
- Experience developing, managing, and implement worker's compensation claims management programs
- Communicates effectively with company personnel on all levels
- Experience coaching teams in the improvement of business processes and operational performance
- Expert in time management
