A Leading paper manufacturing firm is seeking a driven, hands-on leader as a Director of Operations to sit out of one of their key facilities.
Summary:
The Director will be responsible for leading all manufacturing operations in a manner which aligns with organizational goals as well as industry and regulatory standards.
The ideal Director of Operations should have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related field required; Master's Degree preferred
- 10+ years' experience in a Paper, Pulp, Packaging, Corrugated, or similar manufacturing environment
- Expertise with LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications a huge plus
- Experience in a pulp, fiber or milling environment
- Paper, Pulp, Tissue, Forestry or similar product manufacturing experience
- Proven track record implementing LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies resulting in measurable results .
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively at all levels throughout organization.
- Superior leadership abilities
- Ability to serve as a cultural and organizational change agent
The Director of Operations will have the following responsibilities:
- Oversee all manufacturing operations and daily activities including EHS, Quality, Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics, Human Resources
- Lead teams of 100+ employees
- Drive Continuous Improvement and safety culture across entire facility
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop, execute and uphold long-term business plans which align with company vision, values and standards
- Troubleshoot equipment, systems, and machinery as necessary
- Develop, implement and uphold operational KPIs
- Monitor activities on the floor and foster a preventative/predictive maintenance culture
- Hire, train, motivate and lead employees into organizational leaders
- Ensure service requirements are met
- Develop, implement and uphold operational KPIs to maximize productivity and ensure operational excellence
- Ensure operations are in compliance with GMP Standards and FDA Regulations
