Position Overview:
As the Global Category Manager for Professional Services, you will be responsible for overseeing the global procurement and strategic sourcing of professional services, driving value optimization, and ensuring consistent alignment with the company's objectives. This is a pivotal role in optimizing spend, fostering supplier relationships, and ensuring the highest quality service delivery across multiple regions.
You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders in various business units globally to develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure cost-effective and high-performance professional services that support business operations and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Sourcing Strategy:
Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for professional services (including, but not limited to, consulting, IT services, HR services, legal services, etc.), ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy and operational needs.Category Management:
Lead category management efforts across multiple regions, defining category plans and objectives, and managing a global supplier base.Supplier Relationship Management:
Build and manage long-term relationships with suppliers, ensuring strong service levels, contract compliance, and continuous improvement in service delivery.Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., legal, finance, operations, HR) to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate sourcing strategies that meet business goals.Cost Management and Optimization:
Continuously identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and process improvement initiatives to drive value across the organization.Contract Management and Compliance:
Negotiate and manage contracts with global suppliers, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, service-level agreements (SLAs), and all regulatory requirements.Market Intelligence:
Stay informed of market trends and innovations within professional services to bring forward best practices and ensure the company remains competitive in sourcing and service delivery.Reporting & Analytics:
Provide regular reports and performance metrics to senior leadership, ensuring visibility into supplier performance, spend, and opportunities for improvement.Risk Management:
Assess and mitigate any potential risks associated with suppliers or service delivery, ensuring that business continuity is maintained at all times.
Required Qualifications:
Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in category management or procurement, with a strong focus on professional services sourcing.
- Experience working with global manufacturing companies or large, multinational organizations is a plus.
Education:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) would be a plus.
Skills:
- Strong expertise in strategic sourcing and category management, with a focus on cost optimization, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
- Ability to navigate complex, multinational environments and manage cross-functional relationships.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint).
Language Proficiency:
- Fluent in English (both written and verbal). Spanish language skills are preferred but not required.
Remote Work Skills:
- Ability to work independently, managing multiple projects and priorities in a remote work environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to handle global coordination across different time zones.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Global Experience:
- Experience managing procurement categories in different countries and regions, ideally within Europe or globally.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Knowledge of professional services categories relevant to the manufacturing industry, such as IT, consulting, logistics, legal, and HR services.
