We are currently seeking a Head of Engineering (m/f/d) to join our team as soon as possible.
About the Position
Reporting to the Site Head, the Head of Engineering will provide strategic and technical leadership for the engineering function. You will lead and develop a high-performing team, ensuring excellence in engineering operations in line with global standards. This role is a key member of the Site Leadership Team, which drives the site's mission, and also contributes to the Global Technical Operations Leadership Team, shaping the company's overall engineering and manufacturing strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Provide leadership and performance management for the site's engineering team, including maintenance, reliability, process automation, and capital project management.
- Develop and execute a long-term strategy for engineering and site investment.
- Mentor and grow technical talent across engineering and manufacturing functions.
Engineering & Operations Management
- Ensure all site assets are qualified, maintained, and optimized in line with company standards.
- Support manufacturing operations in achieving production targets while maintaining compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Plan and oversee capital investment projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
Your Qualifications & Experience
- Extensive leadership experience in engineering management, particularly in maintenance, reliability, process engineering, or capital project planning.
- Strong background in pharmaceutical, biotech, or animal health manufacturing, with a deep understanding of EU GMP regulations.
- Fluent in English and German to effectively communicate in a multicultural environment.
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams, optimize resources, and drive measurable improvements.
- Strong decision-making skills, even in high-pressure or ambiguous situations.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and gain support for technical strategies.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering.
