We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our I&W Manufacturing Coagulants team at our Mojave, CA plant. In this role, you'll work closely with the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, and Lead Maintenance Mechanic to optimize plant processes, maximize throughput, and enhance product quality. You'll provide vital process engineering support, including process design, project management, improvement, and troubleshooting. Additionally, you'll champion process safety and assist with environmental regulatory reporting and compliance.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Safety & Compliance
- Perform technical calculations for compliance reporting
- Foster a safety-first culture
Monitor and Improve Chemical Processes
- Continuously update Standard Operating Procedures
- Report and address process and equipment issues, including night & weekend monitoring
- Generate key production metrics reports for site management
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of all processes and equipment
- Create a detailed training manual for all plant processes
- Collaborate with external contractors to update all process P&ID's
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Enhance quality and productivity to reduce costs
- Execute PSSR's, MOC's, and PHA's as needed
Utilize Integrated IT Systems (SAP)
- Issue Maintenance Work Requests & Work Orders
Supervise Production Personnel
- Train, evaluate, and review production personnel performance
- Implement practices to boost productivity
- Oversee loading and unloading of trucks and rail
- Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Bring to the Team:
- A 4-year bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with hazardous chemical experience
- At least 3 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of plant technical process flows and operations, and a progressive track record (Process Engineer, Production Engineer, etc.)
- Advanced IT skills, particularly in MS Excel and ERP SAP
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Thorough knowledge of chemical processing equipment, plant processes, environmental guidelines, and relevant employment laws
