Regional Director - Environmental Health & Safety required for Leading Food Manufacturing Firm

The ideal candidate for the Regional Director - Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) role will excel in creating, implementing, and maintaining robust EH&S systems that drive revenue growth. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop innovative solutions that enhance the organization's safety standards.
Essential Functions of the Regional Director - Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S):
- Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, best practices, and processes to support the EH&S program.
- Lead, mentor, and coach a team of 10+ direct reports across various plant locations.
- Work with site leadership teams to implement and uphold the Safety Management program.
- Ensure operations comply with the organization's quality and safety standards.
- Monitor workflow to ensure alignment with regulatory industry standards.
- Manage the EH&S Training Program, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with mandated PPE.
- Address strategic and operational challenges using quantitative modeling and analysis for profitability assessment, supply chain engineering, transportation optimization, strategic network design, inventory management strategies, and warehousing/distribution operations.
- Foster internal cross-functional collaboration to promote safety standards across the organization.
- Liaise with local and corporate HR teams to ensure alignment on goals, standards, and health matters.
- Investigate plant incidents to determine root causes and collaborate on solutions.
- Apply industry best practices to ensure all company policies and procedures are compliant.
- Collaborate with product engineering, design, supplier relations, procurement, manufacturing, and customer teams to integrate quality uniformly.
- Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S KPIs at the plant level to ensure manufacturing processes meet standards and proactively address hazards.
- Adhere to the Proposal Development Process, including kick-off meetings, pricing reviews, and preparation of Investment Memos for executive management presentations.
- Conduct regular safety audits to ensure best practices are upheld and operations meet company quality standards.
- Operate with a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, managing resources to meet all deadlines.
- Develop and maintain analytic tools to improve solution design quality and team productivity.
The Ideal Regional Director - Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) will have the following Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Master's Degree preferred but not required.
- 10+ years of EH&S management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or similar certifications preferred.
- Experience in beverage bottling, FMCG, food production, or similar high-speed manufacturing environments.
- LEAN/Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
- Comprehensive knowledge of EH&S standards and systems such as OSHA and ISO-14001.
- ISO14001 Auditor certification preferred but not required.
- Proven track record of leading successful safety audits.
- Superior leadership abilities.
- Ability to teach safety fundamentals in a plant environment.
- Ability to manage across different business units to ensure alignment on EH&S best practices.
- Proven track record of fostering a safety-focused plant environment.
