This leading building materials company is looking for an experienced Safety leader to join their team! With over 10,000 employees across the US, this role will offer growth up to the Safety Manager level. They are looking for someone to help build strategy & vision to take the safety department to the next level.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and coordination of safety and environmental programs
- Implement best practices & maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations
- Develop training materials and coordinate site specific safety training/testing
- Work with site manufacturing engineering to conduct safety assessments
- Oversee environmental inspections
- Conduct ergonomic assessments to identify risk factors
- Work with engineering to implement control measures
- Coordinate annual safety and environmental strategy development and tracking
- Train auditors as needed
- Support location assessments such as audits, inspections and accident investigations
- Develop and initiate projects based on business unit needs
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3-5+ years of safety/environmental management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Extensive knowledge of government regulations regarding EHS environments
- Demonstrated project management and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of relevant equipment safety standards and hazard control measures
- Experience with hazard assessments/evaluations
- Demonstrated customer orientation and collaborative approach
