Position Summary:
As a Senior Operations Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing all aspects of the production process, ensuring efficient operations while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance. You will lead a team of operators, technicians, and other staff members to optimize production efficiency, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the production facility, ensuring production goals and targets are met in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Supervise and lead a team of operators and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor production processes and equipment to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Identify and resolve operational issues, including equipment malfunctions, process inefficiencies, and quality concerns.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve productivity and safety.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule preventative maintenance and minimize downtime.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and enhancing product quality.
- Maintain accurate production records and generate performance reports for management.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Quality Control, Logistics, and Supply Chain) to ensure seamless production flow.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or production operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of chemical production processes, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record of optimizing production processes, improving operational efficiency, and implementing cost-saving measures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a focus on safety and quality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with production management software (e.g., SAP, MES).
Skills & Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of safety and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Ability to identify and analyze operational problems, develop solutions, and implement corrective actions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
- Ability to drive process improvements through data-driven analysis and decision-making.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in an industrial plant environment with exposure to chemicals, high temperatures, and noise.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods.
