Title: Strategic Sourcing Specialist
Summary: A leading manufacturer in the Food/ Consumer industry is looking to bring on a Strategic Sourcing Specialist to their team in the Chicago area. With an annual revenue of over $360M, this client manufactures various natural products such as supplements and proteins for consumer markets. With this, you will be responsible for the assisting with vendor qualifications, sourcing, and purchasing.
The Specialist's Responsibilities:
- Source for new and existing ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods
- Assist in negotiating contracts and managing both domestic and international vendors
- Obtain supplier information and monitor supplier performance
- Ensure compliance with new regulations and all ingredients are from natural sources using non-GMO ingredients
- Assist in new product development/ introduction
- Refer new products from new suppliers to quality assurance teams for approval
The Specialist's Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain Management or similar field
- 5+ years' experience in procurement/ sourcing
- Strong proficiency in MRP systems
