Using AI to Eliminate Recruitment Bias

Should more end-to-end supply chain hiring managers use artificial intelligence to boost the diversity of their candidate pools? Only 9.9% of the STEM workforce are women of color (WOC), according to the National Science Foundation. As we explored in the first part of this series, women of color are uniquely disadvantaged when seeking employment. Too often they face a 'double jeopardy' because of their race and gender and are unfairly dismissed from the recruitment process. Studies show that women of color are less likely to receive a job interview, even when their ability is demonstrated as equal to other candidates. This is bad for business too. In a tightening talent pool, companies can ill-afford to pass up on qualified candidates. Moreover, study after study shows that companies with the highest level of diversity outperform financially the least diverse.
