Job Title: Director, Manufacturing Operations - California (Multi-site)
Location: Gardena, California
Are you a seasoned leader with a robust manufacturing and production foundation? We are seeking a Director of Manufacturing Operations to drive excellence in production, quality, and efficiency across our multi-site operations in California.
Position Summary: As the Director of Manufacturing, you will leverage your expertise to lead high-performing teams, optimize end-to-end processes, maintain rigorous quality standards, and implement strategic initiatives that foster innovation and flawless execution. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, you will oversee our largest manufacturing facility, including production, inventory control, shipping/receiving, sourcing, and overall materials management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term operations strategy for sustainable improvements.
- Oversee daily production operations and Key Performance Indicators (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity).
- Evaluate and improve the maintainability, operability, and efficiency of our facilities.
- Identify cost improvement opportunities through lean improvements, outsourcing, or consolidation.
- Drive a culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement using lean tools.
- Supervise and evaluate performance of production associates, ensuring a culture of transparency, fairness, and accountability.
- Maintain a safe work environment that meets OSHA and environmental requirements.
- Foster an employee-friendly environment that reflects company values.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
- 7 to 10 years of leadership experience in manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of strong P&L.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish.
- Proven track record of delivering results in a high-performance continuous improvement environment.
- Self-directed with a high sense of urgency and organization.
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Knowledge of TPS/Lean tools such as PSP, VSM, Standard Work, Pull Systems, and more.
