Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee daily air freight operations, ensuring timely and efficient shipment handling.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with airlines, clients, and service providers.
Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers to optimise cost and service levels.
Ensure compliance with international and local regulations, including IATA and customs requirements.
Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify new business opportunities.
Lead and develop the air freight team, fostering a high-performance and customer-centric culture.
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to develop tailored logistics solutions.
Implement and optimize operational processes to improve efficiency and service quality.
Monitor KPIs and financial performance, taking corrective actions when necessary.
Handle escalations and resolve operational issues effectively.
Requirements:
Proven experience in air freight management within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
Strong knowledge of air cargo regulations, customs clearance, and global trade compliance.
Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
Leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate a team.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office applications.
Excellent communication skills in English and German (written and spoken).
