Overview: We are seeking a skilled CAE Durability Engineer to join a dynamic team. As a Durability Engineer you will be responsible for evaluating various vehicle components and sub-systems and performing complete vehicle simulations to ensure durability and reliability requirements.
Job Duties:
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering stakeholders to estimate the CAE budget for new projects.
- Organize and assign CAE tasks, managing team deliverables effectively.
- Supervise and manage simulation tasks across engineering teams, work packages, and other assignments with external partners.
- Partner with global technical strategy teams to formulate simulation strategies and computer-aided engineering (CAE) methodologies.
- Execute validation studies to align simulation models with test data.
- Collaborate with design engineers and testing teams to create test plans and develop instrumentation strategies for durability and reliability testing.
- Perform technical research, analyze and interpret simulation results, compile engineering reports, and offer technical recommendations to enhance both existing and new designs.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) on components, sub-systems, and entire vehicles, focusing on static/modal, non-linear, vibration, reliability/durability, and fatigue calculations to ensure they meet durability and reliability standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years working with simulation tools (Motionview, truckSIM)
- Experience using FEA analysis tools (Nastran, Optistruct, nCode, Hyperworks)
