Position Overview:
We are partnering with a leading company in the building materials industry to find an Electrical Maintenance Manager for their Troutville, VA location. This role involves leading a team to enhance electrical and automation system reliability, supporting cement and aggregate production. The manager will focus on staff development, implementing preventative maintenance strategies, and overseeing capital improvement projects to optimize power and control systems. This is a key opportunity to drive operational excellence and production efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required
- Minimum 5-10 years minimum Electrical Engineering experience in power (high voltage) engineering in cement or related heavy industrial/manufacturing industry required
- Strong managerial/supervisory background, minimum of 5 years of experience
- Ability to provide coaching, training and development for direct reports
- Increased level of experience with hands on programming and troubleshooting of control circuits. Experience with Industrial Control products (PLC, VFD, DCS and HMI)
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, PLC programming, Power Engineering Software and Short Circuit Analysis is required
- Experience and application of LEAN principles
Preferred Requirements:
- Manage electrical and instrumentation departments to improve efficiency and ultimately reduce cost
- Develop and implement capital investment opportunities in a timely manner with provided resources to improve reliability of the power distribution and control systems
- Disseminate technical knowledge to hourly staff via in house training to enhance the technical and troubleshooting skills of the personnel
- Develop future managers for the business through training and mentoring
- Manage multiple relationships with vendors, manufacturers and consultants
- Lead safety related inspections and training to enhance and promote the safety culture
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation and control issues to minimize downtime due to equipment failure
- Develop and manage department budget
