Position Overview:
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all purchasing activities for the manufacturing plant in Craiova. This role is crucial for ensuring the timely, cost-effective procurement of materials and services, while maintaining high standards of quality and vendor relationships. As a key member of the supply chain team, you will work cross-functionally to meet operational needs while optimizing costs and improving efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process for production materials, components, and services.
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with the company's operational and financial goals.
- Negotiate contracts and establish strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including production, logistics, and finance, to ensure alignment with production requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues to mitigate risks to the supply chain.
- Analyze market trends and supply chain data to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate potential disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with all procurement policies and industry regulations.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in purchasing or procurement management, preferably within a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract management.
- Leadership experience in managing a team and driving performance.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in both Romanian and English.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and purchasing software is highly desirable.
