Job Title: Sr. Controls Engineer
Job Location: Greater Houston
A leading food & beverage company with over 150 years of history is seeking a Sr. Controls Engineer to join their growing team. The Sr. Controls Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing automated systems, computerized systems, and robotic devices, including automated controls, robotic assembly devices, and computer-controlled systems across the site.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, service, and repair computerized systems and robotic devices designed to reduce human interaction, such as robotic assembly devices and computer-controlled building air-conditioning systems.
- Manufacture, document, and test control systems and process controls.
- Install, test, and calibrate level, temperature, and flow controls.
- Program and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and automation systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, PLC programs, motor Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and other electronic systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a related field.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and take personal responsibility for results.
Essential System Capabilities and Skills:
- Practical experience designing control algorithms (e.g., PID, MPC) for industrial applications.
- Advanced skills in PLC-based controls (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens) and Wonderware SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of control systems communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Intermediate skill working with databases and Structured Query Language (SQL)
