Overview: We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Controls Systems Engineer to join a dynamic team. As a Vehicle Controls Systems Engineer you will be responsible for overseeing different vehicle controls units This role requires strong technical expertise in automotive engineering, leadership capabilities, and a passion for innovation in vehicle design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the growth and upkeep of controls system.
- Creating engineering concept designs, managing post-production maintenance, and handling engineering administration.
- Collaborating with a global cross-functional team to ensure the delivery of complex components and systems throughout their entire lifecycle.
- Working with local cross-functional team members (both on-site and off-site) to provide robust engineering solutions.
- Designing technical solutions that comply with standards and legal requirements in the US, Mexico, and Canada.
- Ensuring new designs meet business objectives and targets for quality, delivery, cost, and features.
- Delivering solutions that align with organizational strategies and meet the requirements set by the Product Platform team.
- Conducting, assessing, and reporting on verification and validation activities at the component, sub-system, and vehicle levels.
- Leading root-cause analysis and component releases (both hardware and software) to address technical product quality issues.
- Supporting the development of modular systems and components to reduce part diversity.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years working with Vehicle Controls Systems
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle CAN communication protocols and CAN analysis tools such as Vector CANalyzer
