Position Overview
This role is responsible for leading the development of both short- and long-term production plans to ensure material availability aligns with established schedules. The position requires strategic planning and collaboration across multiple teams to optimize production efficiency and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute production plans to align with operational schedules and material availability.
- Prepare and review detailed monthly master schedules to meet demand while minimizing inefficiencies.
- Optimize ERP/MRP parameters to support effective planning strategies.
- Manage inventory control by analyzing trends and implementing actions to achieve target levels across all inventory categories.
- Foster strong internal and external partnerships to drive continuous improvement in the global planning process.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze forecasts, usage trends, and production requirements.
- Lead capacity planning efforts to align current and future operational needs.
- Oversee Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and presentations.
- Provide leadership and direction to the planning team, including setting objectives and overseeing professional development.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a management role.
- Strong ERP, MRP, and inventory management expertise.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience in demand forecasting and capacity planning.
Preferred:
- APICS certification.
- Experience with SAP.
- Strong project management skills and familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strategic planning experience.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
